PhD Student
Violet Patterson is a PhD student studying the role of the transcription factor, ovo-like zinc finger 2 (OVOL2) on placental vascular function and development. She completed her BSc & MSc at McMaster University, where she studied the impacts of paternal obesity on placental endoplasmic reticulum stress and vascular development in mice. She sought to continue her research into placental development to elucidate the signaling pathways behind this unique organ.
